Pride of Shannondale,
Will if I Want, Saugerties , 1.35
Owner/Trainer Megan Larkin Megan Larkin began her riding career in Ireland at the age of six at her Grandfather's farm. After a few summers riding at her Grandfather's farm, she fell in love with the sport. She later successfully competed in show jumping on her large pony winning in many shows including Milstreet. Her career continued in the US where she competed in the hunters, equitation and jumpers. When she was 13 years old her parents bought her her first horse, Will If I Want "Wiley". Even though he was a challenge, she never gave up and she was able to take him from the pre-childrens hunters to the 1.35 jumpers. She has competed at the top level shows including HITS, Garden State, Vermont, and Lake Placid. She has also accomplished and won many awards including lihighscore, Emerging Athletes, Zone 2 Champion, won Zone 2 Intercollegiate Regionals, placed 6th in M&S Jumper Finals. Her professional career began in 2008, when she began training and riding at Rice Farms under the tutelage of the late Jimmy Rice at Rice Farms. Megan also completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology. She has trained and taken clinics with many of the top professionals including George Morris (symposium) , Michael Page, Anne Kursinski, and Norman Dello Joio as well as recently ridden and shown with Darren Graziano, Michael Zuckerman, James Benedetto, and Bobby Ginsberg. She has now been dedicating her time training young horses for the hunter, equitation and jumper rings along with importing horses from Europe. With much success, in 2014 Megan opened Thady Quill Farm in Old Brookville. She has brought many of her students to the winners circle at many AA rated shows including the Hampton Classic. Megan continues to dedicate her time teaching her students that it isn't always about the win but the journey.
